Wilbur Marksberry: get an ipod touch! ask for it for ur bday. it only has wifi and your parents would have to tell u the password to their wifi connections anyways so you really dont have to do that.
Debora Soliani: The only way for standalone PDAs to connect to the internet would be to enable either Bluetooth or WiFi on the device. Bluetooth can be used to pair up with a Bluetooth enabled phone and the phone will act as a modem for the PDA to access the internet (however, it is very costly even with current data plans). WiFi on the other hand, needs to connect to a wireless access point or router that enables it to access the internet.Standalone PDAs cannot access the internet directly, they will need some access point to do it.You don't really mention the needs for the device. Is it strictly for entertainment? Productivity? Do you plan on using the device lightly, moderately, heavily? What do you plan to do with it?I think you can get away with an iTouch or other! devices that have Bluetooth or WiFi. As long as the wireless connectivity is disabled, you shouldn't need to worry. However you should stay away from Smartphones (PDA/Phone combo) as they can have direct access to the internet....Show more
