College/Post Secondary Education? (Preferably 2 Year)?

Joesph Smithmyer: That's the road I'm leading as well. There should be plenty, but it depends on the kind of job you want. I'm an aspiring singer/screenwriter so I only know stuff about the arts. You could do Filmmaking, Acting, Special Effects, Graphic Design, etc. Try schools like the Art Institute of Atlanta: www.artinstitutes.edu/atlanta/ or Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art: www.ghia.org/. If you want to specialize in non-arts related fields, you could Google them. All the best!...Show more

Renato Abatiell: hi country boy, I wish you would allow email so I could email you. I am in the same boat. I live in michigan and they have this program going on called no worker left behind. they pay for a full 2 year college degree. everything is paid for, tuituion, books, fees, transportation, room and board if necessary. you pay nothing and get an associates degree. but the catch is it has to be in a industry that is in demand in michigan. but the list is pretty long. I ! am going to take advantage of this because this program will only last untill 2009. so I too am looking for careers that will allow me to make enough money after I graduate so I won't have to work two jobs just to make ends meet. I prefer the medical field, my first choice was nursing (Lpn) licensed practical nurses make approx. $25.00 or more an hour. they work three 12 hour days, so they have 4 days off a week. they can work anywhere around the world, they are always in demand. and they get $5,000.00. just to sign on with the company they choose. they can work in school, nursing homes, manufacturing plants, home care, everywhere. but where I live there is a three year waiting list to get into the program. the next one I saw was occupational therapy assistant. in michigan employers are paying $20-$28.oo an hour for an occupational asistant with certification and an associates degree. next would be physical therapist assistant with an associates degree make $18-$20.00 per h! our. there is no bachelor degree program with these two only a! ssociate and masters degree. I did medical lab technology, respiratory therapy technology, medical assistant. with an associate degree they pay between $12-14 per hour wich is as much as you would make doing home care as a home health aide which needs no degree at all and very little training. I can give you the website that I have but remember this is just a michigan site look also at the government web site where you live to both state and federal they hire for all sorts of jobs, degree or not. and also do what I am trying to do....talk to people who are working in the career field you are thinking of going into. I am considering occupation therapy assistant so I am going to nursing homes and schools and asking to speak to the occupational and physical therapist and assistant. to get their take on it. because my main question will be ....are you starving? do you make enough money with your associates degree to make ends meet or do you find yourself haveing toget a second ! job? I haven't thought of anything but the medical field because of the variety of places you could work, example..hospital, school, factory, home care, ect..but if you allow email in your profile maybe we can be of help to each other or at least be available to recieve information if anyone wanted to contact you once this question is answered and resovled.anyway here is the web site i'm using..O*net online. type it into the browser just the way you see it here and don't forget the * . the other one is .career education consumer report. www.mycareereducation.org. I have a whole list of others but I don't have the space. so email me I'd like to know what you've discover as well. EDit the pay as you go programs or apprenticeships are a good choice too but I need to email this info to you allow email in your profile and go to my profile and email me....Show more
