Ninfa Aronica: Good luck with finding one at that price range. I've been looking for a car with a high safety rating and reliability for the past 2 months, and I have a $8,000 limit. I've looked at everything from Mitsubishi to GM, and can't seem to find a car I like. With a $5,000 limit, you may get the high safety rating, but you won't get reliability. This is because with $5,000 you will not find a car with less than 100K on it, and most Americans don't maintain their cars properly. Best bet:Buy a late 90's civic, I've currently got 2 civics, one with 299K and another with 150K, and they run excellent....Show more

Romana Stiman: Try autotrader.com if you're looking for something in your budget. But, I'm currently looking for my first car and I'm looking at a 2002 Malibu, Focus or Impala.
