best board game?

Arlene Maycumber: we love "Sequence" and hook all our friends and neighbour's on it. My hubby and I can also play it by our self, it great( it also is called: one eyed Jack )

Olen Penhallurick: fish, swingset, christmas tree, water bottle, cicadas, Bat, baseball game, school, telephone, basketball, chalkboard, boss, computer, monkey, soup, i could go on all day.....potato chip, purse, flowers, rocketship, basket, rockingchair, blankets, pictureframe, calander, phonebook, need any more?

Denna Prudente: Up Words is fun and challenging. We also play card games like Canasta and Cribbage. It is great that you are int rested in playing games, it is a great source of entertainment and inexpensive too! Have fun.

Cornelius Thornborrow: The Scene It? Board/DVD games are really good and last for hours and hours. The Movie version is the best!

Douglass Sarley: it involved trivia cards that had categories like people and places, historic happenings, people and ! products, wild. i think there was a board that went with it but we never used it, only used the trivia cards. the questions generally involved countries, geography, history, even some country flag questions. does this sound familiar to anyone? does anyone know what the game was called?

Von Houskeeper: I don't know about time length but board games that i've always enjoyed have been: Sorry, Monopoly, Operation, The Family Feud board game and UNO. I also think Taboo is fun. I'm 21 and these games never get old to me.

Douglass Sarley: chess and loser takes off all !

Dawn Saha: boardgamegeek.com It's free and has far more games than the ones suggested here. You need to narrow your search of games by type. You can do that there.

Voncile Slaubaugh: its gotta be chess...

Randolph Lozoya: The game you are describing sounds very like Trivial Pursuit, which became very popular in the 1980s and is still printed today. If your game had little wedges tha! t looked like pieces of pie that you dropped into your playing! piece as you moved around the board and answered questions correctly, it was Trivial Pursuit. There have been many offshoots of this game, but TP is generally considered the original version of this kind of trivia game. - LJS

Hunter Beech: You need to read the instructions completely as to how to play the game. You don't need to look up anything on the internet. See game instructions!!!!!!!! I am no artist when it comes to drawing, but that's what makes the game so fun & at times.........frustrating, as you try to get your partner to guess correctly.

Lavelle Viveiros: Have you tried Payday? This game is fun and very similar to Monopoly for the fact that play money is used and instead of buying property, you are paying bills and expenses oh and buying houses as well.

Bennie Lantgen: i would like a list of words i could use to draw! i have looked all over on the net and can't find anything...or if you know a website? thanks!

Leif Serabia: So you mus! t not have the actual boardgame Pictionary because it comes with cards. But, if you or someone else has another type of boardgame with cards, you can still use those. For example the nouns in Apples or Apples, words from Taboo, etc.

Giovanna Cramblit: You need to read the instructions completely as to how to play the game

Valentine Willinger: no retards i don't have the board game we are playing "homemade" pictionary!

Cassidy Pangrazio: The website Board Game Geek has numerous user review of board games. The top-rated board game there is the game Puerto Rico, with a ratng of 8.45. It's a fun game. Fairly easy to learn. Challenging. Hard to Master. It is also highly rated at http://www.funagain.com, which is a leading retailer of games online....Show more

Gennie Shauer: Second to Monopoly, being the Best Board Game, comes 'The Game of LIFE'... it takes a while & it takes u through many "Life" experiences; such as choosing a career or a job, getting marr! ied, buying a house, paying bills, and having children... it is Awesome! ... i recommend it.

Chris Rosenkranz: To start out playing Dungeons and Dragons you need:-Players Manual v3.5-Dungeon Master's Guide v3.5-Monster Manual v3.5-20 Sided Dice-12 Sided Dice-2 10 Sided Dice-8 Sided Dice-6 Sided Dice-4 Sided Dice-Pencil and Paper-1" Grid of Squares for a map (Paper will work fine I guess)-Minuatures (For marking objects in-game, pennies and the such will work fine as well)-Immagination

Ginny Trickett: risk

Dewey Heersink: When we play homemade Pictionary, we use a dictionary. The bigger the better, as you can get some really good obscure phrases and words going on.I'd recommend the Oxford English Dictionary.

Samara Siewers: I would suggest you get the book gift set that contains the 3 core books. You also want to pick up a set of dice. Stick with D&D because it is a popular game and your son won't have trouble finding people to play with. The post with the long list is accurate, but you don't need it all at once to get ! started. That entire list would cost you under $150 were you to get everything.I'm a gamer (have been for 20+ years). I like to shop on-line and my store of choice is TheWarStore.com. I've been shopping there for years. The owner, Neal, is very approachable and helpful. His store has GOOD discounts, and his shipping is solid. (A flat shipping rate for each order...I think it's 4.95)The book gift set (all 3 core books) and a set of dice (7 dice) should be under $100. If you just want to get the Player's Handbook and a set of dice, it will cost UNDER $35 (counting shipping)...if it's in your budget, buy him a booster of D&D figs for $10. If you're son is just starting out, the Player's Handbook and dice would be a good start. They make a box set that has: The Player's Handbook, dice set, figures, and game board for $30 or less. It's a good deal.If you are still confused, just give Neal a call. Tell him your situation, how much you want to spend, and he'll help you ou! t....Show more

Dale Mccoun: try warhammer its more like a D&D gam! e then a board game, but it will litterly take u hours to finish one game

Rodrigo Pezley: chess is usually alot quicker than monopoly but it can be very compettetive, you can buy chess board and pices alot cheaper than risk or monopoly and it is much more satisfying if you win. I understand that it has a reputation for being boring, but it is a very addictive game.Hope this helps...

Stevie Kizziar: doesn't take hours so we usually play best off 3 series, but battleship is fun!

Hye Caulley: well, i wouldn't buy it. IF you have to buy him a game system check ebay and get him a copy of DragonQuest. not the TSR sad sack version but the original. the original dragonquest was bought out by tsr hobbies in the 70's and promptly buried. then they came out with their own version which sucked canal water. this game is awesome, 1 book, that actualy contains 3 smaller books. the entire system is percentile dice all you need are 2 -D10 dice for this. it's ! a FREAKIN GREAT game system. i happen to have lucked out and gotten a copy of the 2nd edition shortly after TSR bought them out. everything is in this book to play the game but the extra paper, and dice and pencils. it even has hex paper to copy via scanner or copy machine to use. another thing you might do is buy some miniatures that can be used with the hex paper. the folks who introduced me to the game had an entire city planned out on graph paper it was about 6'X4' they were GREAT DM's!! I seriously loved this game. not played in years. i once had a Courtesan / assasin / theif. she was FUN!! to play. :d in any event good luck!!

Jon Bergmeier: It sure does sound like Trivial Pursuit, but if it is older than that, look at angelfire.com. They have some old games there and it might give you an idea of what is was.

Dalila Yoon: What I would do is go one Ebay and grab a lot of the books for cheap. D and D 3.5 is ending next year, so there are! a lot players who are going to get rid of their stuff. If you buy it ! now it is 3.5. To play a game it takes A Players HandbookA Dungeon Master's Guide A Monster ManualAnd a least on set of diceEverything is extraGood luck and happy gaming.

Jana Sakasegawa: My son for christmas wants D&D 3.5 and he says something about a 3.5 handbook... My question is.. if i buy D&D now is it already 3.5 or do i need to by something else?

Davida Gisriel: confident it is so cool, i can not think of of something extra useful on a chilly winters day than to play a interest of monotony in front of the hearth. Now strip Monopoly with clothing extremely of money, it particularly is extra like it

Romana Stiman: every1, you can play pictionary with just a pen and paperon the internet there is a game called isketch and it is basically ictionary with people from over the world. its really cool. anyway they have loads of different rooms a=maybe it will give you some ideas.

Talisha Digrande: My wife and I play Scrabble until we're blue in the fac! e.

Rhett Kaines: The best board game is monopoly
